Ivy Dayz was built for one community: women going through IVF. That hasn't changed, and it never will. But something has become impossible to ignore. The problems we set out to solve aren't unique to fertility treatment. They belong to anyone who has to carry, store and inject temperature-sensitive medication while getting on with their life.

This is the story of how a brand created for IVF warriors grew to support every injection, and why the heart of it stays exactly the same.

Where it started

Our founder, Tanya, went through six rounds of IVF, four of them interstate. Like so many women in treatment, she spent the first cycle hiding away at home, too afraid to take her medication on the go. After the heartache of that first cycle, her thinking changed: "F-this! I want to live the best life I can, despite going through IVF."

Then came the day that sparked Ivy Dayz. On an interstate trip, she found herself mixing and injecting her medication in a bathroom at The Gabba, after getting through security with an oversized shoulder bag, ice packs and a large sharps container. She searched for something better and found nothing that came close. So she designed it herself.

Tanya's IVF journey didn't end the way she'd hoped. She built Ivy Dayz anyway, because she knew exactly what was missing and didn't want the next woman to go without it.

What we started to notice

As the On the Go Pouch found its way into more hands, we heard from people we hadn't expected. Women managing diabetes with daily insulin. Women on weekly GLP-1 medication for weight management or type 2 diabetes. People on biologic treatments for autoimmune conditions. Some had first found us during IVF, and were now managing a different medication altogether.

GLP-1 medications in particular have grown rapidly in Australia, and every one of those pens comes with the same instructions: keep it cool, protect it from heat, never freeze it and dispose of the needle safely. The medication is different. The problems are the same for any injection needed on the go.

Different medication, same challenges

  • Keeping it cool. Most refrigerated injectables need to stay between 2°C and 8°C until they're opened.
  • Carrying it discreetly. Nobody wants to unpack a medical kit at a dinner table.
  • Preparing it somewhere clean. Public bathrooms aren't anyone's idea of a good injection station.
  • Disposing of the needle safely. Used sharps need somewhere to go, wherever you are.
  • The nerves. Injection jitters don't care what you're injecting.

Honest about how you'll use it

One thing we want to be clear about. If you inject once a week at home, straight from the fridge, you don't need a bag for those weeks. The On the Go Pouch is for the other ones: the flight to see family, the weekend away, the injection day that lands on a birthday dinner. We'd rather tell you that plainly than sell you something you'll never use.

At home, the Keep Them Cool Fridge Caddy keeps your pens and spares organised in the fridge. When you leave, the On the Go Pouch goes with you. Organised at home, ready when you're away.

What stays the same

  • Our IVF community comes first. Fertility support will always be at the core of Ivy Dayz. The warrior spirit that built this brand isn't going anywhere.
  • Our founder's story. Every product still starts with a real problem someone faced in real life.
  • Our voice. Warm, honest and practical. Never clinical, never preachy, never judgemental about why you're injecting.
  • Our design. Products that look like they belong in your life, not in a hospital.

What's new

You'll see us talking about more than IVF in the Journal, with practical guides for travelling with medication, handling the Australian heat and managing injections away from home. You'll find our product pages welcoming GLP-1, insulin and other injectable users. And you'll hear from more of our community, across every kind of treatment.

From one warrior to another

Whether you're in the middle of an IVF cycle, a few months into GLP-1 medication or years into managing diabetes, you deserve to feel confident living your life, injection day included. Life doesn't pause for your treatment. Neither should you.

We'd love to hear your story. Share it with us, or explore the range.
